Eluracat contains the active ingredient capromorelin tartrate. It is a new medicinal product intended for use in cats for body weight gain. It is particularly indicated for those experiencing unintended weight loss or reduced appetite resulting from chronic medical conditions.
The product has only just received a positive opinion for initial marketing with the EMA on the 16th May 2023 so it will be a while before it is released onto the veterinary market. We will provide more information on the product when it becomes available.
