Neoleish is a vaccination which consists of plasmid DNA containing the LACK gene from Leishmania infantum. It is intended for use in stimulating a protective immune response against Leishmaniasis in dogs from 6 months of age. The onset of this immunity is 58 days and the duration 6 months after the primary vaccination course. The vaccination does not interfere with standard serological testing and so infected and vaccinated dogs can be distinguished.

The product has only just received a positive opinion for initial marketing on the 10th November 2022 so it will be a while before it is released onto the veterinary market. We will provide more information on the product when it becomes available.
