Description

Pero Super Sensitive Grain Free, Ocean Fish and Tapioca has been enjoyed by German Shepherds over the past few years. This recipe is a suitable complete food for dogs who suffer from Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI).

Its incredibly gentle digestive action is thanks to the use of tapioca, that has helped many dogs with digestive issues to be able to eat a healthy complete meal, without the worry of an upset stomach.

Tapioca is a highly digestible carbohydrate, far superior to rice and potatoes. It allows the easy release of energy for your dog.

Combined with over 30% white fish and complimented with a range of natural herbs and extracts, this provides a super premium complete food for your dog.

55 Finally! Food for Allegies
Verified Purchase

Finally someone who makes dog food that actually understands allergies and hypersensitivity! So many dog foods claim to be great for allergies, yet they add potato, which is a known allergen! Or they have 'fish for sensitive stomachs' and then add Salmon because its a 'Super food' 🙄 it may well be, but a lot of dogs can't eat blue fish!! I was at the end of my tether, my dog was losing so much weight because she wasn't getting a 'complete food' she could only keep down white fish! She started getting skin problems, through not having the correct nutrition! I always keep an eye on the dog food market as new things come along all the time, that claim to be suitable, they never are and I had exhausted all avenues. I happened to come across this, my vet didn't want me to put her on it, but I knew it would be a better option than what he was suggesting! I was right! My dog is now not hungry all the time, has put her weight back on beautifully, her coat is soft and shiny too, finally. You have to try this food , 100% better than the rest!

55 Happy tummy returns!
Verified Purchase

By on 23 November 2020

My jack russell suffers from a very sensitive stomach and allergies, due to him having a bad attack of intestinal parasites a couple of years ago. Since then he has been tried on various grain free and low fat dog foods, including expensive prescription foods from the vet. I decided to try this food because it is made with tapioca, (known to be easier carbohydrate for digestion ) also white fish, which from my experience is easier on sensitive tummies than salmon. We are now on week 3 with this food and my dog is already much improved, almost perfect poos and higher energy and less itchy, very glad I found it.

Dog with Pancreatitis

Laura McRae

Hi

Is this food suitable for a dog who has suffered from necrotising pancreatitis in the past?

thanks

  • VioVet Staff

It is recommended to feed low fat diets to dogs prone to pancreatitis. This diet contains 12% fat which is on the medium/low side but ideally you want a fat content lower than 7 or 8%. Royal Canin Gastrointestinal Low Fat and Hills I/D Low Fat are great choices. These are veterinary diets though so you should run their use past your vet first. I advise discussing which diet is appropriate with them anyway.
