For dogs that love life, joint degeneration can have a huge impact on their physical and mental well-being. While not all joint problems are preventable, involving joint aid supplements is a sensible investment for the future, as these contain the key ingredients needed for joint tissue repair and renewal. In fact, many people now include joint supplements as a staple part of their dog’s diet, whether or not there is an existing problem.

Extending VioVet’s service of care to pets everywhere, we have developed ‘Joint Force®,’ our own branded joint care supplement. ‘Joint Force’ offers high quality daily nutrition that is cost-effective and for those who are unable to be in for parcels, the pack of 120 is uniquely packaged to fit through your letterbox.

Additional Feeding Guidelines

If your dog is over 7 years old or showing signs of stiffness, use twice the daily amount for 4-6 weeks and then reduce to the above quantities. If your dog requires more than one tablet, we recommend giving half of them in the morning, and the other half in the evening.

Consult your vet before feeding to a pregnant or lactating bitch.

Why use Joint Force®?

Joints are specialised structures which allow a range of movements and endure a lot of stress from everyday use. When joints become damaged over time, the loss of mobility and pain can greatly reduce a dog's quality of life and activity levels.

Supplementation is a popular method of maintaining joint health, intended to extend a dog's period of mobility and comfort. It is believed that as many as 1 in 5 dogs could benefit from a dietary supplement, so we have developed Joint Force with both your dog's needs and your pocket in mind.

Joint Force has been formulated to provide a cost effective and unique combination of 9 high quality nutrients, believed to be beneficial in the following areas when fed daily.

Glucosamine HCl is an important building block and major constituent of all joint components, cartilage in particular.

High quality Chondroitin is found naturally in the Green Lipped Mussel and is key to maintaining cartilage elasticity and promoting the formation of new joint structures.

Manganese is known to activate many enzymes involved in tissue repair and maintenance. For instance, collagen has great tensile strength and is essential for strong connective tissues, including ligaments which hold the bones in the joint together.

Chondroitin provides cartilage with its vital shock-absorbing quality to protect the joints from impacts. Its number of functions help to slow the deterioration of cartilage.

MSM is a rich source of sulphur, with many roles beneficial to joint health. It is believed to work in combination with Glucosamine to inhibit joint degeneration and support recovering tissues.

Hyaluronic Acid is a vital component of synovial fluid, the lubricant between joint surfaces. HA gives the fluid its cushioning properties and allows friction-free movement.

Antioxidants Vitamins C and E work together to minimise the harmful effects of free radicals generated during exercise.

Turmeric has been used by many cultures for hundreds of years and is thought to boast both antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that can help with joint health.

Green Lipped Mussel is a rich source of Omega-3 fatty acids, widely used as supplements for their anti-inflammatory properties. Omega-3 fatty acids also act by inhibiting the conversion of Omega-6 fatty acids into harmful agents that drive inflammatory reactions.

Boswellia serrata is traditionally used in herbal remedies for its anti-inflammatory properties.

Each of the above areas contributes towards an overall level of activity a dog can achieve. The longer joint structure and integrity is maintained, the longer our dogs will be able to remain supple and comfortable.

Each dog will respond as an individual to any supplementation but Joint Force ingredients have been carefully selected, based on both scientific reasoning and traditional use, to give them the best chance of feeling the benefits.

What is Letterbox Friendly Packaging?

Joint Force® 120 tablets are specially packed into a slim, flat container, rather than a round tub, so that your order can fit through any standard letterbox, saving you a trip to the post office or trying to remember which neighbour might be in to take it for you! With Joint Force, you know your dog's tablets will be waiting safely inside for you when you return home.

I purchased these instead of buying yu move 6 months ago, as was a cheaper option. They work just as well (maybe even better) than the yu move alternative. Very happy with them, Doggie is happier too.

alexei jones

I have started my Leonberger (aged 5) who has a progreesive limp to front leg. (Being xrayed Thurs for investigation) we have had to ā€˜loadā€™ him on our current Nutraquin+ so if we swap over will we have to do the same with this product?
Thanks

Health issues

AnnaG

Hi, can this product be used by dogs who have a history of pancreatitis, and have the potential for kidney disease as they only have 1 kidney?

  • VioVet Staff

This depends on the severity of the pancreatitis. In most cases there should be no issues adding Joint Force however if the condition is particularly bad then any change in diet can set it off. We therefore advise discussing adding a joint supplement with your vet first just to be safe.

Side effects

Grace

I have a Jointforce tablet today to my border collie for the first time, and it gave her diarrhoea. Is this normal? Should I continue or should I stop?

  • VioVet Staff

This is not normal and it is likely a sign that your pet is intolerant/allergic to one of the ingredients within. Joint supplements are shellfish based and. Joint Force also contains liver flavouring so I suspect your pet is allergic/intolerant to either the flavouring or shellfish.
To be certain of this I advise trial stopping the Joint Force. If signs resolve then it is highly likely an intolerance to the product is the cause. You can trial it again and if signs recur then this confirms the intolerance.

Unfortunately all good joint supplements are shellfish based. You can try an unflavoured supplement like Synoquin EFA capsules in case it is the liver flavouring that is the issue. This is likely a good next step if your dog needs their joints supported.

Young and Old Dogs

Mandy Melville-Love

I have 7 dogs - 1 x 16 years old, 2 x 12 years old, 1 x 13 years old, 1 x 8 years old and 2 x 4 years old. I am presently using Joint Force Plus which is aimed at senior and stiff dogs, so wondered if it is okay for me to continue with this for my younger dogs as a preventative or would I be better having them on Joint Force?

PS my 16 year old has been taking Renew Me for over a year and acts more like an 8 year old, she's still so alert and mobile....thank you.

  • VioVet Staff

Yes you can use Joint Force Plus in all your dogs if this is easiest. It will provide extra support compared to the original Joint Force. I can confirm it is safe to use alongside RenewMe. It is great to hear your 16 year old is doing so well on the RenewMe.

Age

Cheryl Moss

What age should you give your dog supplements pls

  • VioVet Staff

This depends on what your aim is for the supplement. If you are using it to support current joint disease then as soon as this starts occuring. If you are using it to support a healthy joint in an effort to prevent any future joint issues then you can start it as soon as your pup is weaned.

Joints

Johanna

I have a 10yr whippet, is it best to start her on Joint force or Joint Force Plus? She is a bit stiff now and is not able to jump around so much.
Thank you.

  • VioVet Staff

If your dog is 10 years old then this does count as Senior, Joint Force Plus is advised as the product to go for in Senior dogs if this is possible.

Palatable

Ann Carrington

Is this tablet palatable to dogs? Is it dry or chewy?

  • VioVet Staff

These tablets are liver flavoured and so are palatable to dogs. It is in a dry tablet form, if you wish for a chew-like product then I advise checking out Joint Force Soft Chews.
