Both my horses have a spoonful twice a day. (And I take a turmeric pill too!)
Hopefully it aids mobility, joints and any arthritis.

I bought this form of turmeric as it doesn't stain my fingers! I don't know if this will work on my horses stiff joints, but willing to give it a try.

Below are some recent questions we've received regarding Equine America Turmeric Xtra, including answers from our team.

I have a 23 yr old cob with arthritis in his hocks. He is on 1 Danilon each day . I was speaking to someone today who recommended Turmeric instead of the Danilon. Would this be acceptable do you think? He is ridden regularly and the arthritis doesn’t seem to affect his performance.
Turmeric contains curcumin which is a herbal supplement that has anti-inflammatory properties. It is not the same as Danilon which is an NSAID medication and it will not work in the same way. It is therefore not advised as a suitable replacement. However the two products can be used together and you may wish to consider using a joint supplement containing curcumin in treating your horse's arthritis.

I have a dog of 50kg and one of 30kg and both have arthritis. Is there any reason why I couldnt use this in smaller doses? Many thanks
This product is intended for use in horses only, there is no data to show whether it is safe for use in dogs or not. It is advised to use a dog friendly Turmeric product, such as Omega K9 Turmeric instead. If you are supplementing for joint disease then our own brand Joint Force is a great choice.

does this need to be fed with oil for optimum results?
Oil is not required alongside this product, it can be mixed directly into your horse's feed.

How much shud b used on 14yr old 15hh heavyweight cob mare who is developing joint probs?
Feeding Directions:Introduce gradually and split between daily feeds. For a 500 kg horse (I would expect your mare to be around this weight) – feed 26g (two scoops) per day for the first 7 days and increase to 52g per day thereafter. If desired, the servings may be increased up to a maximum of 104g per day. 13g measure enclosed.
