Bought this product after it was recommended by my vet (and reading the reviews).
Sadly it caused an adverse reaction on my (white and black) cats ears.
Sent a photo to VioVet and they refunded my money straight away.👍
They suggested contacting the manufacturer so that they could investigate. I did so but have heard nothing from them.
Customer does not recommend this product
Filtabac had been a great sun screen for our horses this year. A bit messy to apply, but once dry lasts longer than most.

My go to product for certain issues. A constant in the medical chest of my tack room

Stays on all day and as it isn't scented Ralph doesn't mind wearing it! A little goes a long way so is value for money but keep some baby wipes handy as it sticks to your fingers when applying.
Also having the product in a tube rather than a pot makes it less messy, and keeps hair & dirt out of the product

It was delivered fast I will buy again.

Below are some recent questions we've received regarding Aniwell FiltaBac Antibacterial Cream, including answers from our team.

Hi,
My dog was recently diagnosed with the above. Obviously the sun is a major factor with this disease. Can I use sunscreen on his nose while he is waiting for a consult with his oncologist. There are a few sores on his nose and he has had a biopsy
Yes this cream can be used as sunblock on the skin area. Whether it will interfere with the carcinoma itself is unknown unfortunately as it has not been tested specifically on tumours. It is recommended to only use this alongside advice from your vet.

Can I use this on broken wart type lesions on my old dog?
This cream can be used on broken skin so this should be fine to use on a broken skin wart. If the wart is repeatedly being an issue then it is worth seeing your vet to have the lump diagnosed and treated.

Does this sunblock work on cat’s ears?
Aniwell have this disclaimer on the cream itself:
Caution: white cats, in particular, may react to the anti-bacterial and
zinc oxide in FiltaBac®Cream– please consult your
Veterinary Professional before using the product.

Will this work for feline acne? I have tried washing and wipes and nothing has worked!
This product should not to be used on cats unless recommended by a vet as it contains zinc which should not be ingested by them. I recommend discussing treatment of the condition with your vet.
Omega Oil supplements such as EpiGlow can be beneficial for Feline Acne. Chlorhexidine based wipes like Vetruus CLX Wipes can be used to clean the area too.

My mares mud fever is chronic. She’s on 24hr turnout for the first time. There are deep clay boggy areas by the gate so every time she dries out she wet again. Her fur is practically all gone on her front cannon bones but the fetlocks and patterns still have fur. I’m moving her to a stable at the end of the month. Doing all I can with feed and mud talc plus stinky stuff. Will his actually seal her bare areas to help the skin?
Aniwell FiltaBac is great at helping prevent bacterial infections as well soothing and moistering the skin in the area. Mud fever is usually a bacterial infection so this cream can help prevent this. I recommend reading our blog on Mud Fever for a full guide.

Can this cream be used to draw out puss.my dog has an open sore, which has puss coming from it.at the moment it is being cleaned with hibiscrub and then covered with fuciderm cream
This cream won't necessarily draw out pus any better than Fuciderm. In fact I would stick with your current protocol of cleaning twice daily with dilute hibiscrub then applying the fuciderm. If there is a small hole or pocket you could use a syringe to help flush the pus out of the wound. Once the pus has stopped draining the wound should heal. If it continues discharging it would be a good idea for your vet to take a look since there may be a foreign body or something similar in the wound preventing it from healing.

Is it safe to use around eye - swollen from insect bites above and below eye
Good Morning,
Thank you for your question, Yes, ANIWELL FiltaBac will be quite safe to apply right up to the eye and on to hairless and non-pigmented skin. If it is to be used for sunburn protection, just maintaining a visible cover should be enough. However, if the skin is damaged and needs protection the ANIWELL FiltaBac should be applied in moderate thickness to maintain a "Natural Skin" cover. The underlying damaged area will be protected plus have the additional benefit of the anti-bacterial function
I do hope this helps, if you have any further enquiries do not hesitate to contact us.

this maybe sound stupid but can this cream be used around a rabbits eye? he is a white rabbit with red eyes one of which seems to be sunburnt. would I be allowed to use this product for that ?
It's not a stupid question at all. This cream would probably be fine to use. You should avoid getting any in the eyes and I would apply a small amount first to one eye, then wait until the next day just to check that there was not any sort of reaction to the cream. If all seems OK compared with the other eye (I expect it to be fine) then you should be able to use it.
